On the Windows 8.1 computer, Window-Eyes 9.2.1.0 is set as the default
screen reader. If I uncheck all of the boxes that relate to defeating
Window-Eyes at start-up, it does not allow me to select another screen
reader to start in its place. If I try to have either System Access or NVDA
start in the place of Window-Eyes, I get the message that another screen
reader is already running. Press enter to close this box. I can close
Window-Eyes and wait for thirty seconds before trying to use either NVDA or
System Access. Is anyone on this list facing this challenge?

I do have the same screen readers on another computer running Windows 7. I
have System Access as the default screen reader. Window-Eyes does not try to
take over. I can unload System Access, use NVDA or Window-Eyes by pressing
their hotkey.I don't even have to wait to mlaunch each screen reader with
their hotkey.

I just would like the Windows 8.1 computer to work in the same manner as the
Windows 7 computer.

I look forward to suggestions to try from people on this list.
