Hi Vic, Although it's a bother, you can always press F2, the Windows hot key for renaming a file in the file explorer, in order to turn the file name into an edit box, allowing you to read the file name using normal text-editing keyes. You just have to remember to press Escape to exit the renaming mode so that you don't mess up the previous name of the file. smile

If I go to one of the bottom corners and press the mouse next line hot key there is still more there. Second, this happened in Windows 7 and is still going on after I updated to Windows 10. Window-Eyes will sometimes not read all of the text on the line when I press the read current line hot key. It reads the first part. I know the text is there, because the read to end hot key picks it up and if I move word by word it also picks it up. Third, the mouse keys still have problems reading character by character. For example in Windows Explorer if I want to get the spelling of a file name I cannot move the mouse one character at a time. I have to press the read line twice to get the spelling. This is OK if we still had the format of eight characters with a three character file extension, however now people are getting creative and lengthy with their file names. Also, they are at times putting periods in the file name before the extension.
