Hi,
I did uncheck this in AVG, and I have not lost speech since last week when
it was unchecked. I hope it lasts. SMILE!

Subject: AVG system tray notifications
To turn off AVG Internet Security's system tray notifications do the
following:
1. Press Windows-D for the desktop.
2. Press A until you get to AVG Internet Security.
3. Press enter.
4. Press shift-tab to move to the options button and press space.
Note: Window-eyes will not announce anything at this point but a menu does
open.
5. Press the down arrow repeatedly to go to Advance settings and press
enter.
6. By default you are in the "appearance" group. Tab until you get to
the check box "display system tray notifications" and press space to uncheck
it.
7. Press enter to close.
Following these steps can reduce the focus issues in AVG as the system tray
notifications are not accessible and can cause issues.
You can also assign sounds to AVG events such as updates, scans and virus
alerts.
