Hi Rick, Yes, the 9.X edition of Window Eyes is a bit temperamental. Stops talking very easily, especially when using the Web, with any Browser.
I use Becky, and I have WE going quiet when typing a message, probably at least once ber five messages. I am "Tolerating" it, since I can not afford to do anything else about it. For the people that never suffer 9.2 going quiet, I honestly wonder just how much they use their systems. I use my system almost all day. At least five to 7 hours per day. And in that time I probably have WE die 3, 4, maybe 5 times. And if I do not re-boot a couple of times during those six hours, WE gets sluggish and will fail. Re-starting WE with the Magic Key stroke, works about half the time, but if WE has failed, and I get WE to restart, it is not long before WE once again fails. I am sure that the A I Squared Staff, who read these posts are tired of my problem and wish that I would only go away. Even if it means I move on to another Screen Reader. And I just want the Problems to go away. I like using Window Eyes, have used it for years. I just am not happy with the Series 9. Since I know little about how WE 9 works, I only have guesses and suspesions about what causes WE to fail. I suspect Memory gets messed up. I may have an issue with MS Windows not managing Memory well, and not giving all of memory back when I close a program, thus ending up with less and less memory for all programs to use. But, I am only guessing. Can no longer afford a replacement system, so the one I have will have to do until WE changes, or some piece of this Puzzel falls into place, and I can then adjust something in MS Windows, or on the System, so WE and the System are finally Happy. Until something changes for the better, I do what I can with what I have. -- Dave <[email protected]> _______________________________________________ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
