Hi: I hate mucking with installations. I called Microsoft Office staff, the sales department, and they had a fellow take over my computer and install it with the options I wanted including the icons on the desktop. The whole process took less than half an hour after he took control of my machine. Note that the fellow was an American, would be leary of someone from another country who is just a clerk sitting at some machine taking over my computer. So, if you go this route talk enough to the person who will do the install to feel confident they can get the job done and backup, backup your system before he mucks with it so you can do a restore if he mucks things up and don't try and delete anything before you do a restore if necessary! That said, the support person did a good job, quick and everything worked like I told him I wanted it to work but keep your demands simple and basic since many support staffers are not exactly rocket scientists and your operating system may depend on what they do to it.
