Hi Larry,
It sounds like some other software is preempting those controls. I
know some video drivers use the alt arrow keys to rotate the screen,
but I haven't run into any that use the shift arrow keys for
anything. That's something to look into though.

BTW, the number on the update didn't look much different than the
9.2 I had on my machine before updating, but it indicated that there
was an update, so I dutifully updated.
