I had to turn off the use of that alt-print screen in drop box which
uses it to save screens for sharing.

David,
Alt-Print screen is not a Virtual View hot key. It is a Windows
command to capture an image of the active Window. You can also just
run Virtual View with Control-Alt-V and choose the focused or active
window as well as whether you want to use clips, UIA, or OCR. If
you're not trying to read an image, that is a window that's not
accessible for some other reason, UIA will (if applicable) always
give you much better results than OCR. In other words, I would
recommend using OCR only when you know you're dealing with an image
or if UIA and clips fail on a conventional window.

It is great that the new feature of OCR has been implemented in Virtual

that might be a matter of learning to use it.
Yet, it seems there is a lack, or at least I have a strong WANTING for a
setting in the app. It is told, that we are to press Alt-PrintScreen, if
I get it correct, when in a document. I don't know, but when I press
that key-combo, or at least what I believe is that key-combo, NOTHING
happens. The combo seems to not work on my computer. I then thought I
would simply redefine it to something more convenient, and which I know
for sure what keys I press. So, I open WE Controlpanel, Alt-A and then
V, then scroll to Help, and press Enter. In the dialog, I go to the
hotkey manager. Yes, the manager opens, but here I only have one entry
to change, and that, is DEFINITELY NOT the Alt-PrintScreen combo. Why
not? Why can't we redefine the key-combo? Is this a lack in the design?
What if your keyboard does not have a PrintScreen, or even the key has
some odd key-combo, or is placed in a rather odd position for the
individual user? Should really be possible for the user to redefine an
elementary keystroke of the app, I think.
Thanks alot,
