Hi Lloyd, I am currently using Outlook 2007 with Win 7 and WE 9.2, and I am experiencing the same delay. I also find that if I am reading a message, and another message arrives, or a WE app update arrives, WE stops talking until I make several alt-tab cycles to reinstate speech.

I am finding that I need to wait often 3 or 4 seconds before attempting to read a message that has opened. The time delay is unpredictable, but probably has some to do with whether the message is in HTML and how large it is. This is with Window-Eyes 8.4; I don't know if it would be different in 9.2. Here at home I am using Windows Live Mail with 9.2 and don't have nearly such a long delay. This is a change from previous behavior and is very frustrating. -----Original Message----- From: Talk [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of via Talk Sent: Thursday, November 05, 2015 5:51 PM To: g melconian; Window-Eyes Discussion List Subject: Re: Third party scanning software Does anyone else find the extraordinary High Prices of Accessible Software, something that borders on Insulting, and perhaps Greedy? When I can purchase a product off the Shelf for around $200, or a bit more if I need Professional quality, the $900 price for Open Book just seems a bit much, as in Too MUCH! There is no way I can afford $900 for a Scanning package. I even find the prices of Screen Readers to be far too High. When the software that reads the screen is twice the price of the computer it will operate upon, something is wrong there. But given the sales are for a smallish market, I'll give Screen Reader Companies a reluctant Pass for their High Pricing. However, Open Book could be sold as a product for not only the Blind, but for the Sighted as well. So Open Book is not limited to just the Blind community, and the State Agencies that might pay such pricing. The Authors of Open Book would need to make their software easy to use and understand by all users, Price it for the Mass market and not just for the Blind depending upon State Agency Money to buy it. I've been using Omni-Page, and I bought it because I could afford it, and could not, and would not afford Open Book due to its pricing. 4900 for a Scanning Software package that is probably not all that much more powerful than the Software that comes with the typical Scanner, for Free! enough of the ridiculous High Prices! -- Dave <[email protected]> _______________________________________________ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
