Hi, This is very good advice, and to this I would add that if a Win 10 driver isn't available, I think it's worth installing the Win 8.1 version, since these usually work well.

It's probably the Microsoft driver for your laptop's wi-fi adapter. Typically Microsoft's drivers are one size fits all lowest common denominator drivers that are supposed to get the bare bones essentials working. This eliminates any other functionality the manufacturer has in their driver package. You should go into Device manager and get the information on your wi-fi adapter and then go to the manufacturer's site or your computer manufacturer's site and look for a Windows 10 driver package. I wouldn't use the "check for driver update" option in Device Manager either because it will probably tell you you've got the latest driver, or, as I have seen, want to download an older driver. Then again, you could give it a try if you want. Microsoft claims this has been improved in Windows 10. So take that for what it's worth.
