its not windows 10. i get the same thing with w e 9.2 and windows 7 home 64bit.
you have to tab away and back to the check box before the status is spoken

Running WE 9.2 on Windows 10 64 bit and using IE 11. As of late WE no
longer voices the status of a checkbox when you hit the space bar to
check it. Hitting the space bar does switch from unchecked to checked
but no longer voices the change in status. Any solution to this problem?
