The weird thing for me, with 3.2, read to end would read text in the
Thunderbird editor, but it wouldn't follow the cursor exactly. As a
matter of fact, the cursor was already at the bottom of the message
before I finished reading even a few lines. So I guess you could say
that it never worked all that well even when it did read, but at least
WE actually verbalized the message text.
