there is a very successful procedure to get it to work, you need to add the latest certificate to trusted via the certificate manager in both sending and receiving mail under either tools and personality, or just tools and receiving / and / or sending mail. Make sure to add the "server" certificates, the ones on the top of your list in certificate manager, not ones you've already trusted.
