Someone wrote a script to do a limited form of braille input with
Window-Eyes. I have not used it, and don't know what name to look for on App
Central.
Whatever the manual says about your ActiveBraille display is probably the
limit of what is supported. With enough information, a script could probably
take care of this, but you might end up being the person who writes it.
There are a lot of braille settings available to you, and I don't know which
ones would be helpful for your PuTTY problem. Some experimentation will be
required, and you probably want different braille settings for the command
prompt than for most other Windows programs. With most console programs that
I am aware of, you review the screen with the mouse pointer, or perhaps the
invisible cursor (formerly called the W E cursor). If your display jumps
back to the i-beam cursor unpredictably, perhaps some other program is
stealing focus from PuTTY at times, and when focus returns to PuTTY,
Window-Eyes returns you to the cursor location.

Subject: WE with Handytech Active Braille
Hello,
Is there anyone on this list who is using Window-Eyes together with a
Handy Tech Active Braille. I would like to find out how to get the ATC
technology as well as braille entry from the Active Braille to work.
I know about pressing Space-1-7 for toggling ATC on and off and have
it set to on, but when I scroll through text, I haven't gotten the
display to advance when my hands reach the end of the braille line.
Also, I haven't found the setting in WE for turning on braille input.
Thanks,
Imke Durre
