Hi Rick, Note that pressing Control-Shift-W twice will read additional, not normally accessible info, in a window.

Recently I was on the Desktop and hit windows key and enter to start narrator. Instead of remaining on the DeskTop as in the past a window Shell_Window something was read as the title bar and I was on the task bar. This also seems to have happened a few times in Internet Explorer when trying to get WindowEyes speech back by firing up Narrator. One of the first things I am hearing lately is the phrase "give us your feedback" whenever I start narrator and don't know if it is some type of dialog generated by something in the task bar or it is just a line related to narrator starting, even then I would think it was in a window or dialog which is read by narrator but what, not recognized by WindowEyes? I am also having problems in Internet explorer in my Yahoo Finance sites where things will slow down and sometimes seemingly lock up for perhaps 15 to 30 seconds or more but then come back normally and sometimes the focus will have jumped to the top of the form, sometimes not. I don't know how to nail down where the new "give us your feedback" message is coming from and if there is a dialog or window causing some of these problems since reading the title bar or ctrl+shift+w reads nothing other than the underlying content of the Desktop or Form I am in - no message about "give us your feedback" and no buttons etc if a dialog. Also, I was just sitting on the desktop and out of the blue WE said "Window" I checked but found nothing other than the Desktop displayed. This all sounds like things are going on that WE is not tracking or aware of or ignoring or something - I just don't have a clue. I also have gotten a couple of "send error to AISquared" messages upon boot up but didn't find any details on that either but sent them off. I did notice some unusual behavior in Outlook during that run like opening a message and hearing "List Bottom" and a few seconds later the actual message contents, the "List Bottom" is new and after ReBooting again this fixed itself - likely one of the WE scripts not working or loading properly. Finally, when trying to do my work in Visual Studio I get no pitch changes for caps and have tried all the settings and even Rods script but nothing works, it does for JAWS and I think Narrator if I remember correctly but not with WindowEyes - WindowEyes has other problems in visual studio that JAWS and Narrator and I think NVDA do not have like focusing, focus problem?, on the error window when it is not suppose to making working in the editors dificult, it is also in the editors where the pitch changes don't work and they do in some of the IDE dialogs. Anyway, has anyone else turned on narrator or run another program and had focus jump out of what you were doing and into the task bar Rick USA _______________________________________________ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
