Hi: WindowEyes can have problems with search in a Internet Page.
2 things I have noticed are that if you happen to have focus in some type of
text or search box even with browse on WE will take a long time, many
seconds to a minute or more before finishing a search and in the meantime
things seem locked up.
If not in browse mode on one of these controls this also happens.
The second thing is that allot of web pages play audio video ads which I
don’t hear but that can impact WindowEyes reading by making it slow and
sometimes I think this might also cause what are aparrent lockups.
Sometimes I might hear some audio for a split second then speech will return
to wherever I am in the page with WindowEyes responding, sometimes normally
and sometimes slowly.
All you can do is to try and ensure you are not focused on a input control
or menu item before conducting a search if you can and ensure browse mode is
on.
I have no clue how to handle those automatic audio video things that
evidently are playing but you don’t hear.
Note that while I don’t use them often I have not had these types of search
problems when I do use other screen readers so it may, or not, be a
WindowEyes problem.
More analysis would be necessary to try and focus an actual cause.

Thanks,
Chris

Subject: WE Find

Hello,

When I use the WE find (control + shift + F) and enter my search string, I
hear that a match was found and WE reads the results. However, The cursor
is not placed on the found search word. When I press enter or arrow over
the found search term/name, it isn't the word I searched, but the previously
selected link. This worked fine yesterday. The only changes to the
computer would be this morning I updated the Windows Enhanced 1.1.9 and GW
Tool Kit apps. Any suggestions?

I am using WE 9.3.10 on a Win 7 Pro, 64 bit computer and IE 11.

Thanks,

David Ayers
