Hi Neville,

Are you using Automatic form interaction?
If it is on, this can be similar to what you're describing.
This can be toggled using Control-forwardSlash, and since its Scope is
normally set to global, you can just save it by pressing Control-S in the WE
control panel.

What OS are you using?

I am not having any browser mode problems with the latest Firefox 43.0.4 
under W7 HP 32 bit.

Although sometimes when first loging  in browse mode becomes a little 
confused until I tab down to the start of the page.  The cursor   seems 
to get stuck at the very top and so a few tab presses are required to 
move down into the text.
