In effect I did. I restored my profile, and all was well except that
this new problem cropped up a few minutes after I did so, and no one
could come up with a workable solution directly relating to WE, which
might not have been the problem at all. I almost wish I had taken the
system restore rout a bit sooner rather than putting myself through all
that frustration. Not always the most logical and immediate solution to
every problem, but when your screen reader has become more of an
inconvenience than an asset, you get desperate, and some times you have
to take desperate mesures. I'm just glad to be once again making
constructive use of my 'puter.
