I agree with all of this. Still, we were promised a new version last year if
I recall correctly and nothing materialized, so I'm not holding my breath.
But, as you say, the program does most of what I want it to do, so I'm not
overly worried about when a new version will appear. I use it every day and
it works great. The only hitch with it is that it no longer identifies CD's
when I want to rip them, so I do have to use something else for that when I
used to be able to rip them with Winamp and have them tagged up nicely.

what it's supposed to, why switch? I would certainly think that you'd
only upgrade or switch to something else when a new file format comes
out that Winamp doesn't support, or if for whatever reason it no longer

company, and they say they'll be coming out with something this year, so
you may want to keep it around and see what develops. i've been using
Winamp since 1999 so I'll only switch to another player when or if I
