Hello, Well, I must say, I am enjoying my New Older computer. Windows 10 is nnot as easy to get around in, or to accomplish tasks I did in other Operating Systems. So far, Windows 10 appears to be Microsoft's attempt to please everyone, but falling way short of that goal.
this doesn't mean Windows 10 does not work. It does work, and so far, my system has not failed once. As much as I am needing to use the Search feature, and to Type something in, I think I am typing as much as I did back in the Old DOS Days! Command Line seems to have come back with Windows 10. At least when used by someone blind. I do have a couple of questions- First, I can not get my Email program to connect with my Internet providers server. I did call Centurylink Tech Support, and spoke with a nice lady, half way around the World, who proceeded to not help me at all. She was very quick to push me off to call Microsoft's Tech Support because Windows 10 apparently has problems with Centurylink. The lady could not help me, but told me Microsoft could if only I would call them. BeforeI call Microsoft, has anyone else needed to adjust something in Windows 10 in order to make their Email Client send and receive Email? If so, would you share what you did to achieve success? The next question is How do I get an Icon for MS Word on the Desk top? I find the Icon for MS Word, but there is no way to copy it, or to paste it onto the desk top. Pressing Shift F10 gives me no choice for creating a Desk top Icon. So, for now, I am stumped as how to get an Icon for MS Word and a couple of other programs on the Desk top. any help with this would be fantastic. My last question is I have downloaded several Talking Books from the NLS library, and now need to Unzip them. In Win XP and Win 7, I could highlight the file, then Extract it. click Finish and I was done. In Windows 10, I am not finding any Unzip utility. So is there one? And if so, where is it? Otherwise I can download an Unzip program. thanks for any help with these questions.
