Hi,
Some thoughts.
1. Have the user go to the apps menu, diagnostics and refresh accessibility
libraries.
Reboot the computer.
2. Make sure you have general/other/enable support for UI automation turned
on.
3. If the user wants, make sure verbosity/common/activated/read entire dialogs
is set to yes.
4. Make sure the window is maximized.
You can do that by pressing alt-space then X or just windows-up arrow.

Subject: 9.4 not reading contents of boxes

I am sending this on behalf of someone else, so I might not be getting all of
the problems completely described. If there is more or some clarification, I
will send another post on the topic.

This problem is with 9.4 on a 64-bit Windows 7 desktop and the browser being
used is the latest Firefox. Window Eyes is not reading the contents of edit
boxes and other objects into which one enters text. Also, according to the
description, some message boxes and other pop-up items Windows uses to give a
user information are not being read. Since I use the same OS, the same version
of WE and mostly use Firefox as my browser, I find it interesting that I have
not experienced any of this. The person experiencing the problem has been using
out of date software across the board, only recently moving from XP and older
versions of WE and Firefox, so I am thinking that the problem might be with
settings. I have kept up to date, and thus my settings have evolved along with
new versions of all of the software. I just don’t know what settings might need
changing from the default to fix such problems and was hoping that some list
members might have a better idea of what needs to be done in a case where there
has been a recent jump of several versions.

Thanks for any assistance,

Chris T
