Hi Don, You need to enable Word Navigation Mode with insert z if you want to be able to do things like press h to move between headings. This is akin to browse mode. Obviously turn it off again before you start typing ...
I suspect you may be stuck with hearing bullets in a document, but you could try toggling the attributes setting with Windows a and the format alert with insert 5. However, I suspect you'll actually hear more formatting information rather than less by altering these settings. Depending on whether you need to preserve the formatting of the document, you could always strip out things like bullets entirely. If you want to do this, press control a to select all.
