I can understand why Microsoft would exempt us from the deadline since they
are still working on accessibility issues. Their browser, Edge, is not yet
accessible, but I am using Windows 10 and am very pleased with it. If I
have a problem with a web page in IE11, I switch to Chrome. I can't speak
for other screen-readers, since I don't use them, but I think Window Eyes is
doing a great job. But as always, the more we know about the software we're
using, the better and easier it will be to get the most out of programs.
Bookshare has books on Windows 10, for example, and Google is a great
resource. There are many tweaks and changes to settings that we can make to
make Windows 10 more user-friendly, though the definition of user-friendly
will vary from person to person.

She mentioned the Microsoft Accessibility Desk as a source of user feedback.
Perhaps we should call the Accessibility Desk more often. Smile.

technology

Hi,

Here's a little interesting tidbit from the guys at MS about the Windows 10
upgrade deadline not applying to users of assistive technologies:

Enjoy,
