Hi Michael, and welcome to the Window-Eyes list. My name is Sky, and I too used JAWS from almost beginning, before making the switch to Window-Eyes in 2007. I am Window-Eyes certified, which means I have a certification to train in that screen reader and did just that with an organisation a couple of months ago. I have been doing a lot of promotion of Window-Eyes behind the seens thanks to it being free with Office 2010 and up. Window-Eyes has two JAWS layouts. It has a layout called zoomtext Fusion layout, which uses the standard keys, So, if your used to JAWS, this layout would use all of the JAWS standard keys, including Insert T for title bar, insert+down arro for say all, insert f7 for links. Anoter JAWS transition tool you might find helpful is insert key layout, which is accessed using control+alt+0. This will allow you to use Window-Eyes in JAWS mode. I hope this helps, and again, welcome to the list! @lists.window-eyes.com] On Behalf Of Mike Boyd via Talk Sent: Tuesday, May 10, 2016 12:41 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Hello group, it's late, but I am just winding it up for the day. Glad to be here.
My name is Michael, and I am brand new to Window Eyes. I hope to learn a lot from this list, andto be able to use Window Eyes as well as I can Jaws. I really know nothing of the program yet, but I will be reading some instruction on it and learning as I go along. Hopefully, it will not be long before I am helping others on this list with their issues with the program. I have over 35 years experience using a computer, and have become pretty well versed in the inner workings of them over the past decade. Thanks for accepting me into the group, I am sure that it will be a good experience.
