I had planned on doing the upgrade over a weekend after researching a bit to be
prepared to customize, but last night, after my mom, who owns the desktop I
borrow time on while I save for a new machine, told the usual popup not to
install the upgrade, the upgrade started anyway, although it waited a couple of
hours to do so. It did not offer any cancel buttons or way she could stop the
process, so now the computer has Windows 10 and today I am trying to configure
it so that I can use it with Window Eyes and also so my technophobic mom can
use it without too much stress. I think that both amount to the same task,
getting things to resemble Windows 7 as much as is possible.

So, I am looking for tips on how to set things to both be as close to Windows 7
as possible and so things work best with my Window-Eyes, which is up to date.
Instructions, suggestions and links to instructional pages are all very
welcome. I am struggling along, trying to figure things out by poking around,
but I haven’t figured a lot out, things like getting the file explorer to more
resemble Windows Explorer, how to get Internet Explorer back as default browser
and how to change the color scheme have so far eluded me.

Thanks for any assistance,

Chris T
