Hi Larry,

Here's a list of steps which should work for you.
The thing is that, in Windows 10, all the settings and dialogs which were
present in Windows 7 are still present.
However, you have to find them within the ribbon.
So, here we go.
Within a folder, press Alt-V and then L.
Next, use up and down arrows to select Details and press Enter.
This should display the current folder in the way you were asking for, with
date and size.
Once you get this folder displaying the way you want, you can make this
folder view global by pressing Alt-V,Y,O.
You're now in a multi-tab dialog.
Press Control-Tab to display the View tab and the Apply to Folder button
will be focused.
Press Enter to apply your display settings to all folders on your system.
Tab to the Ok button to close the dialog.

Hth,

Rod

Subject: A question about folder information in Windows 10

Good morning,

This little question has been on my mind for a long time, and now at last it
is getting the best of me, so I just have to ask.

When I am browsing through folders on my hard drive, or any drive for that
matter, i notice that the type of file, or folder is listed, date and size
are listed as I wish them to be, but when it comes to the byte count or size
of a folder, I get no information, although the column is listed. All I hear
is "size, read only," but no byte count.

I know, I can go to the properties dialog box to get this kind of info, but
why should I have too?

So, guess what I'm asking is if there is any way I can get this
information to reveal itself when arrowing over too it, and not just what
amounts to a blank column.

thanks much,

Larry
