I am a member of the Disney Movie Rewards and Disney Movies anywhere
services part of go.com, Disney’s main site. Recently I started having an odd
issue. I am certain that it isn’t Window-eyes fault, the problem happens when
using my iPhone as well, but I am hoping that I can find a way to deal with
the problem on my desktop because I prefer to access the service that way.

So, this is using the latest Window-eyes, all apps up to date on a PC running
Windows 10, though the problem started happening when I was still using
Windows 7 64-bit. I have tried both the latest versions of Internet Explorer
and Firefox, I retry Firefox each time there is a new version released just in
case. Aside from using Safari on my iPhone, that is all I’ve tried. I have, but
don’t know anything about using Chrome and I have a Kindle Fire tablet, but am
not yet profiscient enough with it to be confident using it for web browsing.

The issue is one of the strangest I have ever encountered. Out of the blue, I
started having problems doing much of anything with my account. I can still
enter in codes and get my points, If I buy a Disney movie on the iTunes store,
I still get my points and if the movie qualifies for a free digital copy, I
still get the copy added to my collection and the copy appears in my collection
on all of the services connected to my Disney Movies Anywhere account. But if I
try to look at the details of my account, browse or search for items to order
using my rewards points or pretty much anything else, the browser will not go
to the appropriate page or if it does load, I will have the pop-up that is the
center of this issue become the object of focus, and I can’t get anything done.

The pop up in question contains the basic fields for creating an account,
fields for birthdate and zip code, check boxes for accepting terms and allowing
the sharing of information required to have the Movies Anywhere program work
and so on. It also has a couple of checkboxes that ask me to reauthorize all of
that information sharing as if I had revoked those permissions in the past.
This section seems to be the one directed at me, it is the most common area for
the browser to focus on even though it is in the middle of the page and II am
always already logged in when II am working on all of this. But, no matter how
many times II uncheck and recheck the boxes, reload and whatever else, the
submit version, oh yes, each of these sub sections has its own submit button,
nothing happens. Sometimes an error message appears at the bottom of this pop
up saying ‘We’re Sorry’ with an OK version, clicking on OK causes some sort of
action, but when the page loads, everything is the same as described above.

Now, here is the truly bizarre part. Usually if there is a real problem with
content of a webpage not being accessible, it is the screen reader that cannot
access the content. In this case, the screen reader can read everything.
Visually, the pop up does not exist. Nobody can see any of it, there isn’t any
part of the page that can be minimized or closed to uncover it. It interferes
with my ability to access the service, and this interference continues even if
speech is turned off and the pop up is invisible, but there doesn’t seem to be
any way to make it go away. I cannot route the mouse cursor to the controls on
the page, nothing works and, of course, I can’t find out if the controls will
work with Window-eyes turned off because nobody can interact with the page
without speech.

Any ideas for further things to try would be greatly appreciated. Disney has
been no help over email and I hate dealing with their phone system. I will if I
absolutely have to, but I want to explore all other options to fix it on my own
before I give in and call them.

Thanks,

Chris T
