Sorry, Linette.

The default hot key to select text in browse mode is F8 not Alt-semicolon. I redefined it to make it quicker.
Thanks to Carol for catching my mistake.

Regards,
Tom

Linette,

If you're reading a message in Thunderbird you're in browse mode and
should hear "link". You might want to Tab/Shift-Tab or L/Shift-L to make
sure you're on the link. Alt-semicolon twice should select the link and
a copy dialog should pop up. Otherwise you can open the context menu and
press L for Copy link location. Then paste it into the new message.

To create a link it depends where you want to get the link. If it's for
a site you're on in IE you can press Alt-D for the address bar and
Control-C to copy because it will already be selected. Do the same in FF
but Home and Shift-End to select it and then Control-C.

If you're on a link open the context menu and press T for Copy shortcut
in IE or A for Copy link location in FF. Then paste into your new message.

Hth,
Tom

First, how do you send a link from a message to someone else in a new
message? When I put the cursor on it, copy it and paste it into the new
message, it isn't there.
Second, how do you create a link?
I am using the latest version of Window-Eyes, the latest Thunderbird,
and running Windows 8 on an HP Pavilion laptop.
I don't know whether these are WE issues or merely Windows ones. If
they're not relevant to this list, I apologize.
Thank you.

Peace.
