Hi Ed, The sounds which WE uses are stored in the Window-Eyes folder, which is contained in the GW Micro folder, which itself is stored under the Program Files (x86) folder. There's only a handful of files in this folder with a .wav extension, and these are what WE uses. If you open the Sounds tab of the Sound applet (which itself is opened using the Speaker icon in the system tray), there is a branch of the tree, near the bottom of the tree, where you'll see the Window-Eyes system event sounds, and this is where you can see the associated sounds, and change them if you want. Also, your default WE profile folder, which can be opened by choosing Explore Profile folder from the File menu in the WE control panel, is where all WE apps are installed, and each app often has a number of .wav files which it uses. Often the .wav file will be named so as to be associated with the app which uses it, but there is no hard and fast rule about these filenames. This is about all there is to say about this. Smile

Hi, WE ommunity - Does a dictionary of WE sounds exist somewhere? I have not found anything like I am hoping is available. I envision a file or webpage that lists functions (WE loading or unloading; progress indicator; whatever is happening when the 4 descending tones play; et. Al.) followed by a button or link that plays a clip of the sound. I have attempted to learn the vocabulary of chimes, glissandos, and tones, but many remain incomprehensible to me. Some of the mystifying tones most likely are generated by Windows rather than by WE, but having those tones in an accessible dictionary would be a big help, too. I will appreciate any help anyone may be able to give. Many thanks- Ed Culpepper _______________________________________________ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
