Robert, I suspect that Alt-F is still opening the File tab in the ribbon, but intermittently you aren't getting any speech feedback from Window-Eyes. I have seen this in the past and is probably related to a focus issue. In more recent versions of Office and Windows, this issue seems to be less common. So, Rod's suggestion is a good workaround to try. You can also try arrowing up and down after pressing Alt-F to see if the menu items are announced by Window-Eyes. I also wanted to make sure you knew that there is a keyboard shortcut built into Word that executes the Save As command. The shortcut is F12. I can't think of a faster way to open up the Save As dialog in an Office application. Also, there is a comprehensive Window-Eyes webinar on Word 2013 and much of it applies to Word 2010. Part 1 covers navigating the Ribbon. Here is a link to the MP3 recording: http://getwindoweyes.com/Audio_Video_Archive/Presentations/audio/Word2013.mp3. Hope that helps. Best, Marc

This would give me several choices such as Save, Don’t Save, Exit, Close, Save As. I use the Save As to make a copy for back up or for a template. All of a sudden, for no reason at all, the alt F does nothing. How can I get this key stroke back?
