Hi Tom,
Printing in Excel is similar to Word in that Control P will open the dialog. I
admit that I do try to use some of my remaining vision and so may not have all
the answers on how to know if your table will fit on a single page. This is
probably my biggest concern as I like to work in Excel and need to print things
for meeting handouts and hope that I have it correct. Happy to share what I
can and to help think of ways to make this better. My vision is decreasing, so
I need to be figuring these things out anyway.

The biggest thing that I like to do is to set the Print Area before I print so
that I know I'm at least sending the right stuff to the printer. You don't
have to do this and I think this is what people mainly do when they only what
to print a portion of the worksheet, but it's one of the safeguards I use to
ensure that what I want printed will print. Basically, you select the portion
of the worksheet that you want to print, then go to the Page Layout ribbon.
Navigate to the Print Area button, then select the Set Print Area option from
the drop down menu. You can also Clear Print Area if you need to remove the
selection. If you save this file, the selection will stay that way, so if
it's a file you print, then update and print again, you won't have to select
the print area again.

What I struggle with is knowing if the file is fitting on the page. I often
have files with many columns for which I need to change the paper orientation
to landscape. I just don't know how to know without sight whether it's fitting
on one page. You can mark a checkbox, I think on the Print Setup, where you
can specify to have the page shrunk to fit on one page or shrunk to fit the
width, but this can make the print too small to be read on the print out.

Best wishes.

Subject: Printing MS Word Tables and Excel Workbooks

I am using MS Word and Excel 2010. I anticipate creating more Excel worksheets
and MS Word Tables in the future. I am familiar with printingin MS Word, but am
looking for tips about printing the above-mentioned file types. I know this is
not a Sindow-Eyes issue, so write me off list if you have any suggestions. Yes,
I am aware of CathyAnne Murtha’s tutorials. They are very good, but don’t talk
much about printing.
