I googled windows 10 desktop list view and found several results. There is a video that tells how to change the desktop view to a list view, and there were other text descriptions. There seems to be some difference as to which number keys to press, or whether an icon on the desktop needs to be selected or not. Or perhaps there are just multiple ways in Windows, as usual.
You can set the view to either list or detail by holding down the control-shift keys, and either the 6, 7, or 8 on the top row of the keyboard, depending on what set of instructions you choose. I did not try any, since I like my desktop in its current list view, however I got it, smile, and don't want to lose it. But for those who might want to play with this in Windows 10, here's one link: http://winaero.com/blog/set-details-content-or-list-view-for-desktop-icons-i n-windows-10/ Here's a video/audio description https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEC4aF1cVsw HTH.
