For anyone who wants to try a list view on the desktop, similar to the view in file explorer, no sideways arrowing, just a long list of up and down arrows and a Window-Eyes mouse that reads each item without items in other columns,
Go to the desktop. Make sure nothing is selected. If it is, press control space to deselect it. Press contro-shift-6 (the number on top of the keyboard). Voila! This works in Windows 10. I don't know about earlier versions. And I see now how I must have gotten this in the first place. On the desktop, a fingertip reaching for the t to check the title bar and getting the 6 instead. Not knowing about this nifty shortcut, I was baffled, and then pleased. If you choose to go back to the regular view, with nothing selected on the desktop, press the context menu key and arrow to view and press enter. Arrow down to medium icons and press enter. Voila! In either view, first letter navigation works. This is a cleaner view for Window-Eyes, JMO, so just thought I'd share, for fellow experimenters. Smile. Rebecca A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it isn't open. _______________________________________________ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
