Gail, the latest version of Window-Eyes is 9.5.1 or something like
that. Yes, It does work well with windows 10 and I have been using it
for several months now with little or no issues. Just thought I would
let you know that the latest W.E. does work well with windows 10. Good
Luck & Have A Great Day! de

Gail,
The guest of the Main Menu were Microsoft Narrator project managers I believe
their point was that Narrator can do a decent job of reading the applications.
Where JAWS and Window Eyes really excel is the vast amount of configurability
available. Often times, our screen readers have 1,000 or more lines of custom
scripts behind each application making shortcuts and associating relevant
values.
So, using narrator one can use Windows and "modern aps" but if you want to hit
a keystroke, to read you the next three hours of the weather forecast, you will still
need something more powerful than narrator, unless Narrator provides a com like API much
like WindowEyes does to adjust all those settings and to control where the various
cursors are.
What could be worrisome, is that this reduces the incentive for people to buy
screen readers, but I am sure that was a factor in some of the recent mergers
we have seen in the last two years. Also, I expect that Narrator does not have
Braille support.
Best wishes,
Jonathan Cohn

Hi, I listened to the Main Menu podcast regarding Windows
10. It sounded to me like Windows Narrater is being promoted over Window
Eyes, Jaws, and NVDA. I would like to be able to continue to use WE. Also, I
agree that people with disabilities should be able to fill out a form
regarding Windows 10 and accessability. Also, What is the latest version of
WE and would it be recommended for Windows 10? Any assistance is
appreciated. Thanks. Gayle
