As a keyboard user, I prefer the list or detail view for the desktop rather than an icon view because I can arrow down through the list and not be stopped by the end of a column. Using first letter navigation, it does not matter which view we choose, icon, list or detail. As usual, Microsoft gives us choices. Obviously, the list view gives les detail, chatter. And for the keyboard users who want to play with the Window-Eyes mouse, the list view makes it easy to double-click an item and get where you want to go that way. My details view won't let the mouse move beyond a certain point in the list, so that can frustrate playing. Smile.
Some people prefer tooltips turned on, liking the information it provides. Again, choices, choices, choices. LOL. I just did this and now the extra verbosity is gone. ----- Original Message ----- From: Rebecca Lineberger via Talk <mailto:[email protected]> To: Window-Eyes Discussion List <mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, August 9, 2016 3:44 PM Subject: Desktop Verbosity My desktop is set on "list". This would work in Windows 7 and 8.1. My Window-Eyes speak tooltips is still set on automatic, or whatever the default is. Smile. HTH. A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it isn't open. _______________________________________________ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
