Here's an email I saved hth Andrew Hi all, I do not have a cell phone so I use this and it works fine for me: Text Messaging from your computer To send a text message from your computer to someone's cell phone, do the following. There will be a complete list of cell phone suffixes to use at the end of the steps. 1. If you want to send a text message to someone using A T&T, for example, and their cell phone number is 555-555-5555. You open a new email message and in the " To " field type [email protected] You don't put any dashes in the cell number, just the digits. 2. Tab to the subject field and put in a subject line. 3. Tab to the edit field and put in your message. Then send as usual. They receive the text message and, when they reply, it comes to your inbox. Here are the email suffixes you add to the cell phone number. 3 River Wireless: [email protected] ACS Wireless: [email protected] Alltel: [email protected] AT&T: [email protected] Bell Canada: [email protected] Bell Canada: [email protected] Bell Mobility (Canada): [email protected] Bell Mobility: [email protected] Blue Sky Frog: [email protected] Bluegrass Cellular: [email protected] Boost Mobile: [email protected] BPL Mobile: [email protected] Carolina West Wireless: [email protected] Cellular One: [email protected] Cellular South: [email protected] Centennial Wireless: [email protected] CenturyTel: [email protected] Clearnet: [email protected] Comcast: [email protected] Corr Wireless Communications: [email protected] Dobson: [email protected] Edge Wireless: [email protected] Fido: [email protected] Golden Telecom: [email protected] Helio: [email protected] Houston Cellular: [email protected] Idea Cellular: [email protected] Illinois Valley Cellular: [email protected] Inland Cellular Telephone: [email protected] MCI: [email protected] Metrocall: [email protected] Metrocall 2-way: [email protected] Metro PCS: [email protected] Microcell: [email protected] Midwest Wireless: [email protected] Mobilcomm: [email protected] MTS: [email protected] Nextel: [email protected] OnlineBeep: [email protected] PCS One: [email protected] President's Choice: [email protected] Public Service Cellular: [email protected] Qwest: [email protected] Rogers AT&T Wireless: [email protected] Rogers Canada: [email protected] Satellink: [email protected] Southwestern Bell: [email protected] Sprint: [email protected] Sumcom: [email protected] Surewest Communicaitons: [email protected] T-Mobile: [email protected] Telus: [email protected] Tracfone: [email protected] Triton: [email protected] Unicel: [email protected] US Cellular: [email protected] Solo Mobile: [email protected] Sprint: [email protected] Sumcom: [email protected] Surewest Communicaitons: [email protected] Telus: [email protected] Triton: [email protected] Unicel: [email protected] US Cellular: [email protected] US West: [email protected] Verizon: [email protected] Virgin Mobile: [email protected] Virgin Mobile Canada: [email protected] West Central Wireless: [email protected] Western Wireless: [email protected] where phonenumber equals your 10 digit phone number
-----Original Message----- From: Talk [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Ted Larson via Talk Sent: Wednesday, August 17, 2016 4:48 PM To: [email protected] Subject: somewhat off topic--can i text someone's phone from my computer Dear List: In the past, if I knew the domain of someone's cell phone, I could send a message to their phone. However, I usually do not know their domain. When anyone else texts from their phone to another phone, all they need is the ten-digit phone number. Is there a way for me to text from my computer to someone's phone with just their phone number? Thanks.
