Hi,

I closely followed Marc's tutorial on setting up a Gmail account in Outlook 2013 but it won't work. I don't think the problem is at the Outlook end, all instructions were followed closely and rechecked, but more likely at the Gmail site end.

After numerous unsuccessful tries in Outlook, I attempted to log into gmail.com with Firefox. Following entering the correct account details,a message was displayed saying that unusual activity had been detected on the account. The account is now blocked and I need to provide a phone number so a code can be sent to unlock the account. The Gmail account was originally set up and successfully tested at the Gmail site using Firefox prior to setting up Outlook.

Does anyone know ifGmail, in its settings somewhere, needs to be advised of which email client will be employed to access email?

Thanks
Neville.
