I was not really satisfied with Eset Smart Security, so when my subscription ran out, I tried AVG. In that whole process, I found out how difficult it was to remove Eset from my computer. Nonetheless, I was able to do so. I used Ninite to install the free version of AVG. The protection interface seems fairly easy to use. The Ninite installer did not have the imfamous worthless Zen screen. However, from time to time, I get a message informing me that AVG wants to do a web tune-up. It wants to change my IE security settings, my home page to Chrome, my search engine to Bing, and my default browser to Chrome. Sometimes, this dialog comes up in a worthless custom control. Sometimes, it comes up in HTML format. I don’t want to change my home page or my search provider. In the process, I am also asked to click on Extentions, but I have no way of doing so. The changes made to Internet Explorer 11 cause web pages to load more slowly or hang. I have reset my IE settings twice. How do you make this dialog work better for you and keep it from coming up? I am using Windows 7 64-Bit Pro and IE 11. _______________________________________________ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared.
