Sounds like your antivirus program flagged Window-eyes components. This
behavior is common in Webroot with the same type of results.

You may need to disable your antivirus program from scanning and reinstall
Window-eyes. Then see if you can white list Window-eyes components or go to
your antivirus manufacturer and have them white list Window-eyes.
They can always download the Window-eyes for users of Microsoft office offer
and put it through their tests to make sure it isn't bad.

Subject: Strange Behavior with Window-eyes

I'm running Window-eyes 9.5.3 on a 64-bit edition of Windows 10, Anniversary
Update. Window-eyes seems to behave as I would expect in Word and on the
desktop.

Beyond that, it's almost acting as though certain components are not active. As
an example, when I press the Windows key with R to bring up the Run dialog, all
I hear is "r" without the prompt, even though the dialog seems to be there.

I brought up a non-VFO screen reader, which confirmed the presence of the run
dialog. Once I closed that screen reader, I would find the run dialog in the
alt-tab list but, once I place focus on that dialog, Window-eyes is silent,
behaving as though nothing was present, not giving me any speech.

When I open the preinstalled Mail app it gives me no feedback as I press keys,
but if I alt-tab out of the window and then alt-tab back in I might hear the
name of a button which might have focus.

Obviously, something has gotten corrupted. I just did a total uninstall and
reinstall of Window-eyes and would prefer a simpler solution to fix this. Could
someone offer any suggestions?
