Hi Ted,

Open Internet Explorer, open the File menu, press down arrow repeatedly in
order to navigate to the option named Open and press Enter.
Press Shift-tab once in order to focus the Browse button, and press Enter.
In the dialog which opens, navigate to the folder containing the file with the
.htm extension, highlight the file, and press Enter.

Hth,

Rod

Subject: how do you change the way you open a document?

Dear List:

I am using internet explorer and microsoft office 2007.

First, thanks to those who responded to my query about opening an htm
document.

Second, I realize now that I tried to open an htm document with office 2007
in microsoft word. Now, the problem is that it does not ask how I want to
open the document. It defalts to Word. How do I get it to allow me to
choose how I want to open this type of document? Thanks. Regards: Ted
Larson
