You are right, I talked to Access Solutions and they told me it's no problemusing the TripleTalk without a battery.

There shouldn't be any reason why you can't take the battery out of your
tripple talk.  I have a dec-talk express whose battery has been dead for a
long time.  If it got unpluged, it would make this motorboating noise.
Everybody said you had to have a battery in there.  Well, I sent mine to get
worked on, and it no longer has a battery in it, and it works just fine.

The battery in my tripple talk will run the synthesizer for a little
while, but then, after no power from the usb connection for about 4 or
so hours, it begins to make noise! :)
If our power goes off during the night, I get a rude awakening from my
wife, I guarantee!
Tempting to take out the battery because who knows whether or not it may
leak? or corrode? causing other issues.

because turning it off with a power strip only turns off the batterycharger.

the battery would stay on until it completely drains.

Why wouldn't the battery turn off if you turned everything off with the

I also use a power strip to turn off all the equipment but the Double
Talk had a hard wired builtin battery whichneeded to be turned off at
the unit.  This, over time, stuffed it up.
