Dear tony, First try to make a free skype test call using the Echo123 skype contact skype testing service, when the woman stop talking you can say something and wait to see if at the other end are hearing your voice, if not the reasons can possibly one of the following:
1. if you are using headset with microphone, make sure that you do not turn off the headphones mic switch into the off position. Secondly, from the skype options unde the tools menu, the proper microphone is selected under the recording tab. Lastly it could be that the microphone can be muted. To unmute the microphone just press insert+S to get into the system tray, then select headphones/speakers depending on what you're using at the moment Then open the volume mixer, use the tab key to move from one item to another and you should land on the microphone button, if it is mute, unmute it.
