Hi all. The below is a brief note to the VFO Chief Executive. I hope that no one is offended when I refer to "many of us" to try and illustrate my point.
Whilst Window-Eyes's future is still in limbo, we should take another chance at lobbying for information regarding VFO's future intentions. I have just used the VFO contact link, and from memory, this is my third attempt to express an opinion, but the first intended for the Chief Executive. Vaughan. For the attention of the Chief Executive: Subject: VFO's intentions for the future development and sale of Window-Eyes. I have been a continuous license holder of an individual copy of Window-Eyes since July 1998. I am also amongst those who have been noisy at expressing our combined interest and concern regarding the future status of Window-Eyes. Many of us have noticed significant deterioration in the important area of customer support; notably the absence of staff participation in listserv discussions. Although not applicable to myself - I have seen comments regarding a decline in telephone based support when individual users have contacted AI Squared. Contrast the above situation with that which applies to JFW. The VFO and Freedom Scientific websites carry communications with news releases and podcasts regarding JFW. There are long standing bugs within Window-Eyes which are significant. Braille support is in need of a complete rewrite, and improvements are required with respect to Window-Eyes stability with various web browsers. I currently have two registered upgrades in the form of the AI Squared Software Maintenance Agreement. Having paid for these upgrades, I expect to eventually receive news of a Window-Eyes release, and to be able to claim one of my upgrades so as to benefit from Window-Eyes enhancements.
