The podcast I heard on Main menu indicated that Window-eyes will be around for the forseeable future. If any updates have to be made, i'm sure they'll make them available. Many people have indicated that this is the case, yet these rumors and speculation that it's dying continues.

People like to have stuff to complain about so they invent problems that don't exist.

Hi everyone. Firstly, it was good to listen to the PodCast. There was
a lot of information.
Now, for some comments that are not made to further stir troubled waters
but merely to contribute to the discussion. However, I have some
thoughts about what might be the eventual outcome for Window Eyes.

I couldn't say that Window Eyes was discussed.
It was mentioned briefly and in a limited way.
To me, the significant words were:
"that's all I can say here." Not only were those words spoken but the
way they were spoken suggested that there was more to be said. Leading
on from that, the mention of Window Eyes only covered the free version
that came about with the collaboration between GW-micro and Microsoft.
Some of us have paid up front for updates through the MSA. We still
haven't heard what is going to happen to our investment and I haven't
been able to get any answers here in Australia. So, my strategy is the
old scouting approach. "Be prepared." The advantage in handling the
situation this way is that, if Window Eyes is abandoned, I have learned
a new Screen reader. In this case, it will be NVDA and, maybe even Jaws
if absolutely necessary.
Hopefully, however, Window Eyes will remain and be developed. It is my
favourite of all Screen readers.

Again, thank you for the PodCast.

Cheers.

Interesting podcast. Jeff Bishop said he only said what he did because
of the nda (nondisclosure agreement?). His words were W-e will be here
for now or words to that effect.

Interesting, he also said since VFO has merged that there is more unity
(or something like that).

Thanks for this podcast. Not much was said about Window-Eyes, except
that
it would continue.
I called VFO to ask if the current version of Window-Eyes would be
ready for
the coming Windows update, and was told that it worked. I also said
that we
were feeling a bit neglected, smile, with all the talk about JAWS, and
that
they needed to get information out to Window-Eyes users that would
address
product concerns and rumors. Window-Eyes is a great product and they
need
to hear from those who appreciate it. JMO.
