Hi:

I do applaud Joshua’s efforts to put the concept across to VFO, but, it does
indeed make a difference when developers are paid for their work.

With all the changes in the screen-reader marketplace, I wouldn’t hold my
breath for anything that smacks of low-cost or free products from VFO. This
business is now more competitive, just because NVDA is out there, narrator is
maturing, and I seem to have heard of another free screen-reader, though I
can’t remember it right now.

We, on the outside can only speculate about what it’s like working in this
branch of the AT industry right now.

In my customer service work, a scriptable screen-reader was quite helpful and
saved me from making some quality errors in my communications. However, in my
home life, there is virtually nothing I cannot do just as efficiently with NVDA
or my trusty copy of Window-Eyes.

With the current focus on cutting government spending, who knows if even those
purchases from Rehab will be as forthcoming, due to the free alternatives.

All I can say for sure is that, things are a-changin’.

Hi,

And how are VFO supposed to make money out of this free JAWS? You can't pay
developers with peanuts.
