Grumpy Dave here, the Reluctant New Jaws user.

I downloaded the MP3 files telling a little bit about the way to Migrate,
and then to start using Jaws.

These audio files are short and to the point. They don't go into great
detail, but give enough to get Jaws installed and to at least have
enough Key commands to stumble around with Jaws in some of your programs.

Jaws is different, but I've managed to learn and even remember some of
the alternative Key commands. Enough to read the screens, and do some
basic editing in the Word Processor.

I've installed Jaws on three systems and did not have any issues.

Plan to get these copies Authorized and we will go from there.

I can see where Jaws has some strange, at least to my point of view,
methods for doing some things, but nothing too far out there.

If a person can get Jaws downloaded and installed, you've gotten through
half of the hard stuff, and it isn't that hard.

I've always had the impression that a majority of Window Eyes users only
barely scratched the surface of learning Window Eyes and how to make
useful adjustments.

I figure Jaws will be about the same for those same people.

Once they learn enough commands to read and write Email, Navigate the
web a little bit, and to maybe use MS Word, Life will be good again for
most.

>From what I've seen of the trickier bits of Jaws, it does seem very
different. No big Surprise, it is a different Screen Reader. It isn't
Window Eyes, so I really need to stop trying to make it work like Window
Eyes.

We all need to eat the New Elephant one small bite at a time.

Give yourself a couple three weeks and see where you are then.
