Hi Jim: OK. To answer your question about the mouse keys, you have to go into JAWS Cursor mode. If you have a keyboard with a numberpad, press the numpad minus key.
Yoou can read the document by pressing JAWSKey+ down arrow. The JAWSKey is either the numpad insert key, if you have a numberpad, or the capslock key. I forget whre you set it, so I'm not much help there. I cannot answer your other questions.
