My preference is to use the Windows hot key: windows-b.
I wonder if the JAWS command is a legacy thing?

at least for me Jaws is proving to be more stable than Window Eyes on my
Windows 10 laptop. No loss of speech that often happened in IE 11 and
Thunderbird is having no problems. Must say however I think that WE has
a much better User interface. After the learning curve I think JAWS
will be a good replacement for WE.
