Well, I called microsoft again, and I think they solved the problem.
The support person created a new user profile on my computer--and now Jaws 18 works just fine. He explained that something was probably corrupted in the user profile, and creating a new user profile, and then copying my settings to the new profile seemed to work!
I couldn't have guessed that in a million years!!!

Subject: mirror drivers error when installing jaws

After installing the 64 bit demo of jaws 18, I get an error message saying the freedom scientific mirror drivers did not install correctly. The message says first try to re-boot, and if this does not work, try running the install again with the
/type repair
switch. I did this with both the regular and non-tandem versions of jaws 18. I called the jaws help line at 800-444-4443 and they said call the microsoft disability desk. I did, and they remotely updated my graphics drivers. Still no joy!!!!

Has this happened to anybody else? If so, what can I do?
any help appreciated!!!
