Ok, saw new jaws version of zoomtext fusion was released yesterday. I brought this up out here, attempted to email doug geoffray (sorry if i spelled last name wrong) email address that he emailed the list with and it came back as undeliverable. Also wrote using contact form on vfo website but hasn't heard anything in response. I just called sales to ask how much upgrading would be and the answer was $200 for the upgrade. Personally, since the people who bought the we based version of zt fusion are in the same boat as we people, i'm not saying the product should be given to us free, at least a discounted upgrade price should be offered. While i understand the name zoomtext fusion is being used, it's a different program. Obviously jaws is the screen reader and not we but also, for zoomtext to work with jaws, zoomtext hotkeys were changed. I can't get clear answer on this but my understanding is that in the new zoomtext fusion the neospeech voices kate and paul will not be there. Which selling a zoomtext product without them is like selling jaws without eloquence. Kate has been my voice for screenreading for almost 14 years. I need her. I bought the we version of zoomtext fusion as i was using we for office and zoomtext together and having them work well with each other was what i needed. I spent $400 to buy the we version of fusion. As it stands, if i upgrade, $200 for the software, $100 to neospeech to buy kate and paul if they ain't included and $200 for a sma. I'm now spending more tohen what i spent to buy fusion in the first place. I haven't touched jaws since middle school, while i'm sure i can get basics of jaws if they somewhat similar to 15 years back. Anything passed that paying for training is something i might have to do. Not to mention there are several we apps i used with fusion. I have no idea if similar scripts exist for jaws. I'm not trying to be whinning entitled person. Y'all say this isn't the fs of the past and y'all do y'all customers right. I'm willing to give y'all a chance.
