On my computer, and it's getting to where I am afraid to post anything, the number on the outside of the folder, at least for me, using Thunderbird, indicates the number of unread messages. Once I delete messages, I (because I have multiple accounts) shift tab to the folder list and right arrow twice to refresh the numbers and then left arrow twice to get back to the folders list and the numbers automatically have updated. Since I can't keep tract of the actual number of messages with Jaws, I use this a lot to keep up with unread messages.

Carol, who is taking a break from Thunderbird.

Hi there Folks!

It seem as though after deleting messages from particular boxes, the message number doesn't seem to change. For example, I have a box called important. Let say there is 100 messages in this box and I decide to delete 20 of them. When I shift tab back to the important box Jaws still reports there are 100 messages in this box. I frequently empty and compress the trash boxes so I don't believe this is an actual issue. Does anyone know what I might try to get the correct number of messages in each of my boxes? Thanks much! de
